HA Networks Technical Specifications

Unlike software load balancers which can overwhelm the CPU , ServePath’s solution is built with an ASIC based hardware architecture that processes and forwards layer 2 through layer 4 traffic at wire speed to provide higher throughput for increased traffic performance. And unlike pure hardware load balancers, our solution runs unique software to handle the complexities of layer 7 traffic such as rate-shaping, ssl acceleration, and compression.

ServePath’s load balancing solution supports 802.1q trunking to integrate seamlessly into our network topology to provide inter-vlan server load balancing. With this unique offering, customers can now load balance any server within our datacenter. Using a unique “predictive” algorithm, traffic will be routed to the most efficient server.
ServePath’s load balancing solution will balance TCP requests between two or more servers in order to insure system uptime in the event of a hardware or system failure.

Load balancing servers not only provides load mitigation for increased system performance, but also affords redundancy in the event of system failure. Using icmp and tcp keepalives, all servers in the cluster can be monitored such that in the event a server goes down, requests are automatically and seamlessly rerouted to other servers.
By building distributed systems that are highly available, resilient, and predictable, you will be able to seamlessly handle dramatic increases in web site traffic while achieving around-the-clock service availability.
