24/7 Network Operations Center

ServePath's Network Operations Center (NOC) is built right in the center of our San Francisco data center, and is staffed 24/7/365 by certified systems administrators and network engineers. The 21 screens that make up our NOC monitor everything from network traffic and performance to power, temperature and security systems to services, applications, known vulnerabilities and RAID array status on customer servers.

  • Large on-site NOC with 24/7 Engineers
  • Real-time monitoring and alerts for all critical systems
  • Customer level service and application monitoring

From the NOC our engineers are able to keep the pulse of our Screaming-Fast Network™, including real-time network graphs of each one of our Tier 1 backbone providers (MCI, NTT/Verio, Level 3, and AboveNet), as well as inbound and outbound traffic monitoring for each of our peering partners at PAIX in Palo Alto, the original Peering and Internet Exchange.

DoS and Network Attack Prevention

Network and Denial of Service attacks are an unfortunate fact of life on the Internet today. And with several thousand servers and tens of thousands of domains on ServePath's network, sometimes these attacks can be quite serious. ServePath employs several industry leading attack prevention solutions to protect our network, including equipment from Riverhead Networks (now part of Cisco) and netZentry's CleanTraffic™ solution to automatically detect and deflect external network attacks.

Network Engineers in ServePath's NOC are able to see complete, real-time data of any network attacks, as well as a screen of detailed history showing source IPs, target IPs, number of packets per second, and other data. Although the network attack prevention devices are able to automatically deflect attacks by identifying them and making routing changes on the fly, network engineers are able to override or customize the response to ensure that our customers are not affected by any attacks.
