ServePath Unveils GoGrid, the First Instantly Scalable Multi-Server Offering

GoGrid features Instant Scalability via Web-Based Management Interface with a RAM-Based Utility Model

Visit ServePath's LinuxWorld exhibit for demos of GoGrid, plus other high-performing, rapidly-scalable web servers -- Booth 1301 --

LinuxWorld Conference & Expo, San Francisco, California, August 7, 2007 – ServePath, a leading managed server provider, today announced GoGrid, the first ever Web-based system for purchasing, deploying, and load balancing complex, multi-server Internet architectures with a RAM-based utility computing billing model.

Launching at LinuxWorld, GoGrid features several new patent-pending technologies offering a new approach to scalability and management of multi-server environments.  Customers can rapidly and conveniently deploy new servers, add or remove both RAM and CPU on existing servers, and load balance servers – all via an AJAX-based web interface.

By utilizing server clusters and a virtualized infrastructure that allows companies to quickly set up dedicated servers and match capacity to their workloads, GoGrid brings true on-demand scalability to high-performance hosting services.  Windows, RedHat Enterprise Linux and CentOS servers are all available for point and click deployment with full root access.

“Today’s rapidly growing sites need easy scalability without over-buying infrastructure,” said John Keagy, President of ServePath. “GoGrid allows you to deploy and pay for only what you need without sacrificing scalability.”

Instantly Scalable Networks
Today’s entrepreneurial organizations need load balancing and a private network for high levels of web site and application performance. Free, enterprise-grade, hardware-based F5 load balancing is built into the system to provide scalability and redundancy. In addition, GoGrid offers static IP addresses and enables customers to implement and manage their own back-end private networks for maximum security and flexibility.

GoGrid provides an immensely more flexible and cost-effective solution for start-ups, development sites, Web 2.0, and e-commerce companies.   New servers can be rapidly deployed; RAM can be added/removed from existing servers - all without ever contacting customer service or support. With GoGrid, organizations can increase their capacity from any web browser and at any time, in effect providing instantly scalable server infrastructures. Pricing plans are based on the amount of RAM and CPU deployed and the number of hours in use.  Internet data transfer is packaged separately to allow customers to optimize their purchasing and features free, unlimited inbound data transfer.  With GoGrid there are no setup fees, no long-term contracts, and customers can upgrade anytime - all that’s necessary is a web browser and a credit card.

GoGrid pricing will begin at $99.99/month, with unlimited inbound Internet traffic, no setup and 5 server size options from which to choose. The service can easily expand from a single server to a multi-server network.

The Green Grid
Whether you have a large data center or are utilizing dedicated hosting, the problems are the same: most servers perform a single task, for instance operating as an email or web server, or as a shared database-driven application. This leads to processing inefficiencies, with many dedicated servers operating at under 20-percent utilization. GoGrid helps customers go green. With a grid of interconnected servers, companies benefit from the power of virtualization and can consolidate many applications onto a single server while load balancing software automatically manages and adapts to spikes in service.

“The carbon footprint of GoGrid is commonly 90% less than the typical dedicated server or colocation footprint. We pioneered the dedicated server space, and living in San Francisco we decided we wanted to do something about the waste in our datacenter. There aren’t many things people can do to make 90% cuts in their carbon footprint.  GoGrid provides a significantly greener choice,” said Keagy.
